This program is aimed at seniors in the community who wish to acquire and /or maintain skills that enhance core strength, maintain balance, in a supportive social environment.

The program offers a number of classes run on a term time schedule (approximately 10 weeks).

Tai Chi is run twice a week by a Tai Chi Master of Shibashi form. Classes are run in our gardens (weather permitting) or in our rooms.

Hydro-cise consists of gentle water exercises run 3 times a week in the Eric Dreikurs Aquatic Centre, the largest hydrotherapy pool in the southern hemisphere. Classes are run by qualified instructors at the right pace for you. Classes are safe and in an ideal environment for relieving arthritis pain and back pain. The warm water dilates the blood vessels and increases circulation. As well as this the support of the water builds muscle strength and encourages free movement of aching joints.

A doctor’s certificate is essential prior to starting the classes due to the temperature of the air and water in the pool area.

All classes attract a small fee.
