JewishCare and Montefiore launch Burger Centre North

JewishCare and Montefiore are excited to announce an extension of their Burger Centre partnership to Sydney’s Lower North Shore.

Taking over the space and client base from the current Club Monte day centre at Montefiore Hunters Hill campus, the facility will be re-branded to Burger Centre from the 8 November 2021 with an expansion of programs also on offer.

In September, the Burger Centre celebrated 30 years of supporting independent seniors in the Eastern Suburbs and management is looking forward to this next major milestone.

“JewishCare has enjoyed a strong relationship with Montefiore since 2006 and we are thrilled to extend the partnership to Sydney’s Lower North Shore to expand our programs to the local senior’s community looking for a safe, diverse and inclusive space to meet new people, remain active and be connected, or for carers wanting safe and inclusive respite for those living with cognitive impairment such as dementia,” says JewishCare CEO Gary Groves.

A sentiment shared by Montefiore CEO Robert Orie.

“Burger Centre complements perfectly our residential care, respite care and independent living offerings, as well as home care services from both Montefiore and Jewish Care. We look forward to bringing this vital communal resource to our seniors’ community in the North and working together to establish another vibrant and much-loved hub for clients, families, volunteers and staff,” says Robert.

Under the leadership of Burger Centre Senior Manager Bronwyn Elbourne, the community will soon enjoy access to an array of respite, wellness, social and cultural programs offering purpose, enjoyment, and a sense of belonging with culture and Yiddishkeit.

“Burger Centre is excited and delighted to be given the opportunity to build on the previous Club Monte offering and we look forward to further collaborating with Montefiore to extend the offering and client base further into the community on the Northshore,” says Bronwyn.

Bronwyn and the team are looking forward to welcoming previous and new clients, volunteers and community partners to the Centre with a Grand Opening scheduled for November.
